I finally got some hits on google looking for my all time favorite candy bar. More importantly I was able to find the name and verify that it contained peanut butter. Yes, it was so good it survived 20+ years in my brain but not without some damage like I had forgotten the name and ingredients. Still kinda scarce info on it and no photos.
They could have been more like Scrumdelicious Bars but maybe my mind is dredging up info from the movie.

They were my favorite candy bar too.They were crunchy but had soft peanut butter inside.I liked the peanut butter Oompa's too.

I can't believe there is another human out there that Googled the Wonka Scrunch bar!!!! That was my favorite candy bar as a child and I was hoping to find a way to get one. I thought some of the retro candy companies would make it. I shall continue my quest.
Isn't the Butterfinger Crunch pretty much the same thing? Or is that the "perfect replacement" you speak of...?
No. the scrunch bar was never hard like the butterfinger and the taste had more peanut butter. It was more like a 9th ave bar.

I have been looking for that perfect replacement for years and tking I have come as close as youre gonna get. Its new. The Butterfinger Peanut Butter cups. They are not as crunchy as the scrunch but the taste is soooooo very much the same. Try em.

I agree with Wendi Gray. The butterfinger peanut butter cup tastes ALOT like a Skrunch bar!
I did try them and they are good. I found the 4 pack and 2 pack. The 4 pack is a little bit overkill in terms of sugar. The peanut butter was smooth and had just enough crunch. I think it is still richer heavier flavor than the scrunch bar.
Reese's sticks reminded me of the scrunch bar. It's good, yet I still want the scrunch bar.
I've done some research and the scrunch bar is no longer being made.
Whatchamacallit candy bars when they first came out, prior to the addition of caramel, tasted pretty close to a skrunch bar. I so wish they would remove the horrible caramel.
It was the best shame on yall for taking it away it can make a come back
